The RGG Summit was even bigger for Yakuza fans. Alongside more of Ishin, it officially revealed Like a Dragon 8 where new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga will team up with Kiry Kazuma for a new RPG adventure, currently set for 2024. Fans don’t have to wait until then for more Yakuza goodness, however, as 2023 will see the release of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. This story will follow Kiryu, now Joryu, in a classic action-adventure title.

All of this is no doubt exciting for fans, as they will be eating good for the next couple of years. However, shortly after the summit ended, RGG apparently had one more major surprise, releasing a trailer for Judgment and Lost Judgment, revealing they are now available on PC via Steam. For anyone who hasn’t checked out this specific Yakuza spin-off, the story of Takayuki Yagami has been well-received, even up there with Ichiban and Kiryu’s story.
Those looking to check out both Judgment games on Steam will also be able to pick up a bundle, including both base games, the School Stories expansion, and the Kaito Files, all for $98.87 as noted by Wario64.
Many fans have been hoping to see Judgment on PC someday, so this is quite a nice surprise. After all, it hasn’t always seemed promising. It was reported last year that Lost Judgment wasn’t planning a PC release yet, thought it was considering it, and this also trudged up some internal conflict. Some reports indicated that Lost Judgment may be the last game in the spin-off franchise due to contractual issues due to rules about actors’ likenesses on certain platforms.
Specifically, actor Takuya Kimura’s talent agency prevents all of its talent from appearing on PC titles, and so it’s uncertain how/why this unfolded behind the scenes since then. Somehow, obviously, it was all worked out and the games are now available on Steam. Fans should keep an eye out for more information about Judgment’s future, as well as the entire franchise in general, in the coming months.
Lost Judgment is available now for Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
