Things really started getting small four years ago when Nabisco introduced Ritz bits, a diminutive version of the popular cracker. Since then, the snack-food giant has miniaturized many of the munchable products in its lineup, from Premium Saltines to Chips Ahoy! cookies, and Mini-Oreos can’t be far behind. In response, Keebler recently concocted its own elf-size line of snacks, including Bite-Size Pecan Sandies and Clubettes crackers. It’s easy to see why so many products are shrinking: consumers gobbled up more than $200 million worth of tiny Teddy Grahams and Ritz bits last year alone. There’s nothing tiny about that.
