For those who have checked out Elden Ring but not other games under this umbrella, Demon’s Souls Remake is a great title to follow up with. This is especially true for any PS Plus Extra subscribers, as it’s available on the service. Its level design is much tighter than Elden Ring’s, but the difficulty spike is perhaps more manageable than Dark Souls. Still, getting all the trophies is quite difficult.

Demon’s Souls Remake Trophy List – Hardest

Many of the trophies are tied to bosses, which means players will beat them for unlocking the game. There are some time-consuming trophies, like collecting all the rings in Demon’s Souls Remake, and players will need to spend their Demon’s Souls wisely. Overall though, there are two trophies that are harder than the rest, each for a different reason: Sage’s Trophy and May You Be Unharmed.

Sage’s Trophy isn’t difficult in terms of a single encounter, but because one small slip may result in a player completing the game twice and then playing through a chunk of it again. It’s much more of a time investment than others as a result. In short, Sage’s Trophy requires players to collect all the spells from Sage Freke and Yuria, which isn’t too bad as long as players are mindful about which souls they spend. The problem is, however, that Yuria has one spell that only unlocks when choosing a specific ending.

Demon’s Souls Remake has a trophy for the “bad” ending of the game, which means players are more inclined to go with it. If they don’t realize it, they may elect the bad ending on their first playthrough—doing so means, to unlock Sage’s Trophy, players will need to beat it again on the good ending, to unlock the Soulsucker spell. They’ll then need to play through rescuing Yuria again in a third playthrough to collect this spell. It’s a difficulty associated with understanding the game—if players choose the good ending first, foregoing that trophy for now, then they only need to beat it twice.

May You Be Unharmed is an instance of a difficult single encounter trophy, as it is more punishing depending on a player’s build. Several bosses in Demon’s Souls have achievements required for beating them a certain way, such as using the Hands of God on Dragon God. For Maiden Astraea, they have to kill her without killing her guardian, Garl Vinland. Vinland is incredibly strong, and not killing him makes the boss fight harder. Astraea can heal quickly, and Vinland can damage quickly. The best strategy is to hit her afar with a bow, but if someone is unaware of this and doesn’t have a good bow/a good Demon’s Souls build, it becomes a real slog.

However, with enough dedication and patience, these two trophies only serve as harder challenges on a player’s path to the Platinum.

Demon’s Souls Remake is available now on PS5.
