According to the media release by the Hawaii Police Department, officers responded Sunday at 11:30 pm to a report of a disorderly patron present at a bar. The investigation revealed that a 29-year-old Vermont male, later identified as Miller, became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke. The Flash star started yelling obscenities at the patrons and allegedly grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman, which resulted in the disorderly conduct charge. Later Miller reportedly lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts, which resulted in the harassment charge for the actor. The bar owner asked Miller to calm down multiple times before law enforcement officially arrived on the scene.

Police arrested Miller and charged the actor on both counts for his unruly conduct at the bar. Police set the total bail at $500, which Miller paid to obtain their eventual release. This incident, however, isn’t the first time The Flash star been involved a situation where harassment has taken place. In 2020, footage surfaced online depicting Miller choking a woman in a bar in Iceland. Witnesses described the altercation as severe, prompting staff to escort them off the premise. The entertainment world is fresh off the televised assault of Chris Rock at the hands of Will Smith, making this incident another truly unsettling moment of a star failing to exercise calm and resorting to physicality.
On Sunday, Miller briefly appeared during the 94th Academy Awards, donning his iconic attire from Zack Snyder’s Justice League in a pivotal scene that won the #OscarsCheerMoment award. The award ceremony introduced this brand-new category to allow fans to participate in voting. The Flash speed force scene took the award over emblematic moments from Spider-Man: No Way Home and Avenger: Endgame. The moment for Miller should have been one of a celebratory nature but instead resulted in their unfortunate arrest. It’s unclear what the legal process will look like for Miller as things play themselves out, but the incident comes at a horrible time for the 29-year-old star.
Miller is one of the staple characters in the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts franchise and will play an integral part in the newest installment, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. The film looks to release on April 15th, but it’s unknown if Warner Bros. will invite Miller to attend the premiere. The franchise has already had to remove one actor from the Wizarding World, replacing Johnny Depp with Mads Mikkelsen, due to accusations of verbal and physical abuse centering around Depp’s relationship with his former wife, Amber Heard. This moment may be one in which Miller made a horrible decision that they’ll learn from, but the consequences of those action may have rippling effects for the star.
Neither Miller nor Warner Bros. has yet to comment on the situation, but the studio will not ignore the news of the actor’s conduct. If there is anything more behind the incident, it will surface in the coming days, but for now, the actor is facing some legal troubles that may not vanish anytime soon. The patrons involved in the incident may press charges, or a resolution may arise that provides Miller an avenue to grow and evolve from the unfortunate situation.
The Flash is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 23, 2023.
